JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY: The Vice President (VP) of Accounting will hold significant responsibility across corporate and operational functions, including treasury, accounting, finance, and project controls. This includes overseeing various back-office functions (such as business licensing, taxes, etc.), along with managing accounting, audits, tax compliance, monthly financial close processes, billing and accounts receivable, financial analyses, monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and return on investment analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Oversight:

Lead the financial planning and accounting practices in compliance with relevant accounting standards. Work with the finance team to manage financial performance through forecasts and monitor performance against the planned objectives. Financial Reporting:

Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) while ensuring compliance with applicable financial reporting standards. Budgeting and Forecasting:

Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts, monitoring performance and providing insights for decision-making. Financial Analysis:

Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to improve financial and operational efficiency. Internal Controls:

Develop and maintain internal controls to protect assets and ensure regulatory compliance. Continuously assess and enhance controls to mitigate financial risks. Audit Coordination:

Manage the audit process, including preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and addressing findings. Tax Compliance:

Supervise tax-related matters, including the preparation and filing of returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and optimizing strategies to minimize liabilities. Team Leadership:

Recruit and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement. Strategic Planning:

Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives, offering financial insights to support long-term decision-making. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Leadership and mentorship of the finance and accounting team to ensure compliance and excellence in daily operations and long-term planning. Risk management and due diligence to minimize corporate risks, ensuring policies and procedures evolve with changes in business or regulatory requirements. Management of the financial planning process, including long-term forecasting and profitability analysis. Acting as a primary contact for financial institutions, accountants, and other external entities. Ensuring effective internal controls and responding to third-party audits. Overseeing financial and accounting aspects of business ventures, joint ventures, and acquisitions. Identifying opportunities for system improvements and profitability enhancement while maintaining compliance. Promoting continuous improvement in policies, procedures, and best practices. Managing financial risks in collaboration with business units and leadership. Overseeing the timely collection of accounts receivable to maintain positive cash flow. Supporting growth initiatives with streamlined reporting to senior management. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING:

Experience managing various aspects of finance, including accounting, financial planning, cash and investment management, and banking relationships. Experience in relevant industry sectors, including federal contracting or similar services. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Advanced degree (Master's) in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
