Assistant Controller **Temporary Position**

**Work Schedule is Mon-Fri 8.30am -5pm. This is a temporary position from 01/20/2025 to 05/20/2025 **
Pay range is $86,000 to $90,000per year depending on the relevant years of experience.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the monthly close process by adhering to schedules for the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. Perform balance sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly close process and provide analysis on significant variances compared to the budget. * Prepare monthly invoices for the County, DOR, and other contracted vendors. * Assist in preparing various financial reports and analyses for Momentum for Health's management. * Assist in analyzing monthly operating results versus the budget. * Manage the AP team to ensure timely and accurate posting of expenses to the GL. * Work with the accounting team to prepare the weekly/monthly cashflow forecast. Collaborate with Development to track donations and project funds. * Compile and verify information during the annual budgeting process. Assist the Controller in preparing the annual budget for review by the CFO. * Manage all payroll-related functions, including payroll entries, federal and state tax filings, 403(b) disbursements, and Form 1099 filings. * Assist in preparing schedules and reports for the year-end audit. Help Controller provide necessary schedules to tax accountants to prepare Form 990. * Directly supervise and mentor Momentum for Health's accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, and payroll staff. * Perform other duties as assigned and assist with special projects. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: (E = Essential; D = Desired)
Bachelor's Degree in accounting. (E) CPA and/or MBA. (D) Minimum of three years of experience in a role such as Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or a similar position. (E) Previous experience with non-profit organizations. (D) Proven effective supervisory experience. (E) Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. (E) Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations and non-profit tax filings, including forms 990 and 990-T. (D) Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. (E) The job requires professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. (E) Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects. (E) Comfortable working as a collaborative business partner with Momentum for Health staff. (D) Highly proficient in Microsoft Office. (E) Experience with NetSuite. (E) Possession of a valid California Driver License, access to a reliable vehicle for driving a company vehicle, current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record. (E) Physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job, with or without accommodation, include:
Hearing and talking on the telephone and in person; sitting for extended periods, manual repetitive motion, pinching, and finger flexion are required constantly (over 2/3 of the workday). (E) Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, climbing, and crawling are generally not required.
