DescriptionWe are seeking a Controller to join our team in Fife, Washington. This role is vital to our operations as it involves overseeing the processing and recording of detailed financial transactions. The Controller will have a direct hand in supervising the accounting staff and ensuring all activities align with the company's policies and procedures. Responsibilities:• Oversee and ensure the accurate processing and recording of financial transactions such as Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Cash Receipts, Billing, Cash disbursements, Contract Administration, and Payroll.• Supervise and develop the accounting staff, including staff development initiatives.• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including bank and payroll functions.• Conduct month-end closing of various accounting software modules and associated general ledger reconciliations.• Prepare monthly financial reports, including divisional financials, and work in process reports (WIP).• Maintain accounting records, including the General Ledger (GL).• Manage fixed assets and monitor daily cash reports from bank and internal dashboards.• Assist with budget and projection preparation.• Liaise with external auditors, providing necessary audit schedules and data.• Oversee audits from state and municipalities, insurance, and workers’ compensation entities.• Monitor company expenses to ensure they align with company policies.• Develop expertise in company software systems, particularly Spectrum accounting software, and train accounting and non-accounting staff on its proper use.• Resolve any accounting discrepancies and irregularities.• Advise internal staff on the correct application of various sales and use tax regulations.• Act as the primary advisor for all accounting and accounting software questions or issues.• Undertake other projects as assigned.The salary range for this position is $140k to $160k.
