Business Intelligence Analyst

As a
Business Intelligence Analyst , you will play a pivotal role in using data to solve complex business challenges and drive strategic decision-making. Combining your skills in SQL, Power BI, and other analytics tools, you will conduct in-depth analyses, design impactful visualizations, and generate insights that support key business objectives. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across departments to understand and address their needs, translating data into actionable recommendations. Your work will empower the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions and optimize business outcomes.
Key Outcomes
Deliver executive-level reports that result in actionable recommendations, contributing to measurable improvements in key business metrics (e.g., revenue growth, cost reduction, or customer retention) within six months. Ensure completed data products include measurable outcomes, such as increased efficiency, improved decision-making, or cost savings, with at least 90% meeting or exceeding their defined ROI targets. Reduce average development time for data products by 25% while maintaining or improving quality and usability. Job Responsibilities
Develop executive-level reports in SQL and Power BI that provide actionable insights, using best practices in data visualization and performance optimization. Conduct stakeholder needs assessments to align report logic and metrics with evolving business objectives, ensuring relevance and usability. Augment reports with statistical tests where relevant to focus stakeholders on the most meaningful / actionable information. Organize and document test cases for data models and reports for quality assurance. Develop automated data acquisition and cleaning processes to enhance efficiency and scalability. Maintain version control for code, algorithms, and external components to ensure traceability and reproducibility. Collaborate with clients and technical teams to design and implement reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making and drive business outcomes. Manage ad-hoc reporting requests by prioritizing effectively and delivering accurate, timely insights. Break down and manage complex data challenges, translating them into structured, actionable tasks that align with stakeholder goals. Lead Quality Assurance testing for data integrity and reliability, including conducting root-cause analyses for data issues. Create and update essential documentation for reporting processes, data sources, and calculation methodologies. Conduct periodic reviews of deployed applications, providing feedback and strategic recommendations to enhance functionality and business value. Analyze post-deployment reporting performance to identify optimization opportunities, balancing improvements with operational constraints. Participate in on-call rotation to provide critical support for reporting services. Support Power BI users via Zendesk or equivalent platforms, troubleshooting and resolving issues with efficiency and a user-focused approach. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 2-4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering data solutions that drive business impact and support strategic goals. Proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and optimization in large datasets. Demonstrated proficiency in data extraction and cleaning, including the handling of missing data. Experience with descriptive and inferential statistics including analysis of categorical and continuous data, exploratory data analysis, and analysis of variance / regression analysis. Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create advanced Power BI calculations, measures, and dynamic visualizations, enhancing data insights and report interactivity. Experience with Power BI (or comparable BI tools such as Tableau or Looker) to develop, manage, and optimize reports and dashboards. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word) for data organization and documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated strengths in consensus-building, multitasking, relationship management, and analytical problem-solving. Adept at collaborating effectively with both technical teams and clients, ensuring alignment and clarity on project goals. Self-motivated and independent, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Requirements
