Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems provides size reduction systems and powder processing solutions for chemical, pharmaceutical, food, mineral, plastics, and cosmetic applications. Throughout our history, we have led the industry in coarse to ultra-fine grinding, classification, mixing, drying, containment, compaction, and analytical equipment. The Tax Manager is responsible for all aspects of external and internal income tax accounting and compliance at the federal, state, and local levels to assure the Corporation’s tax compliance. Preparation of US tax reporting for foreign operations as part of the US Consolidated Federal income Tax Return (including Forms 5471, 5472, 5713, and 8865). Manage sales tax process, including invoice review and filing sales tax returns. Manage communications with taxing authorities to resolve issues; handle the corporations tax audits. Maximize/identify areas of tax savings. Research and document tax issues as they arise. Job Duties:•Daily review of invoices for sales tax, review and document exemption certificates from customers, issue exemption certificates to vendors, monthly review sales tax report for proper taxation on invoices, prepare sales tax backup reports and file state sales & use tax returns. •Respond to and manage tax audits as they arise.•Coordinate and prepare the consolidated US federal tax return including the production of all work papers, US and international tax information packages, and maintaining of files. •Work closely with HMPS finance staff and communicate with financial controllers in Europe and Mexico to ensure proper reporting on Forms 1120, 5471, 5472, 5713, 8858, and 8865 and state income/franchise tax returns.•Compute quarterly installment payment amounts including tax depreciation, gain/loss, and Subpart F/GILTI calculations.•Remit tax to the various local taxing jurisdictions.•Work with other individuals in HMPS and KPMG to ensure proper reporting on Canadian T2 of employe travel to Canada.•Prepare annual income tax provision computations, APB 23 assertion, FIN 48 memo, tax footnote and narrative for US companies.•Special projects on request (tax planning, review M&A transactions for any tax impact, Federal NOL management, Subpart F and GILTI estimates, and dividend strategies) for Corporation.•Preparation of annual reports and ensure business license compliance, property taxes declarations, US residency certification, respond to tax notices and tax audits.•Other duties Filing of Annual and Unclaimed Property reports, FBAR, research issues, monitoring tax legislation for impact on the Corporation.Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance •CPA license and/or master’s degree in taxation•15 years of experience with US multinational corporations, including international tax experience, US Federal, State & Local tax compliance background• 5 years of experience with Corptax software •10 years of experience with Excel Preferred Qualifications:•Advanced level feature usage in Excel•Position requires a self-starter with the ability to work and make decisions independently•Ability to present complex tax issues in simple terms•An understanding of Corporate M&A activities •Knowledge of Visual ERP and RIA Checkpoint•Strong interpersonal skills Hosokawa Micron International provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race; color; sex; gender identity; sexual orientation; religious practices and observances; national origin; pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions; status as a protected veteran or spouse/family member of a protected veteran; or disability.Hosokawa Micron International is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to, among others, individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans.
