The Role:


We are seeking an experienced communications leader to build awareness of SoFi and its mission, products, and business. The Director of Communications will work closely with our executive, finance, brand, and product marketing teams to drive programs that deepen understanding of our business and mitigate risks to our day-to-day operations.


This role requires deep knowledge of business and financial media, experience managing both proactive and reactive efforts, and creativity in helping brands stand out in a crowded environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement integrated communications programs that support SoFi's mission and business objectives.
  • Partner closely with our executive, finance, and investor relations teams surrounding quarterly earnings reports, capital markets activity, and other financial communications efforts.
  • Support SoFi's response to issues and crises that impact our brand and our members.
  • Employ measurement techniques to assess the impact of communication strategies and adjust tactics accordingly.
  • Maintain an extensive, up-to-date knowledge of the media ecosystem.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior-level executives, providing insights and recommendations on communication strategies.

Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of experience in communications, with a strong preference for work on behalf of innovative, consumer-facing brands.
  • Proven track record of generating earned media and enhancing brand reach in crowded environments.
  • Experience in crisis communications and issues management for consumer brands operating in regulated environments.
  • Strong relationships with reporters, editors, and producers.
  • Experience in working within complex, matrixed organizations and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Compensation and Benefits


The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
