Who We Are: The Embedded Systems Section in the Strategic Aerospace Department provides comprehensive engineering services to projects involving the systems engineering/technology insertion, requirements generation, cybersecurity/information assurance, trade studies, design, development, maintenance and production of hardware and software systems for the aerospace community, including aircraft and ground support equipment ranging from microcircuits to major subsystems. By joining our team you will receive $500.00 on your first paycheck (minus applicable taxes). Objectives of this Role: Support fabrication, assembly, and test of avionics electronic systems to include assembly and disassembly of Avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs). Operate avionics equipment, analog and digital test equipment. Fabricate aircraft and other wiring harnesses. Work with Electrical and Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Design engineers to address manufacturing issues with drawings. Support engineering staff in testing of manufactured items along with any associated re-work required to get the assemblies fully operational. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Interface computer hardware to laboratory and field test electronics. Setup and conduct product acceptance test. Troubleshoot and repair electronic systems and assemblies. Some outdoor testing; complex/large item assembly; some on location work that may involve working from heights as well as onboard military facilities/platforms. Performing soldering in accordance with IPC specifications for avionics flight worthy hardware. Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Two year degree, or equivalent industry and/or military and NASA/IPC soldering training in electronics is preferred. 5 years: Basic DC/AC circuits experience/knowledge. Basic electro-mechanical construction skills and fabrication techniques for assembly of printed circuit boards, multi-pin control cables, RF coaxial cables, and basic electronics assembly. Operating laboratory-test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, multi- meters, network analyzers, etc. Basic computer skills including PC hardware and software. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment; good communication skills; must interface effectively with sponsor personnel and suppliers. Interpreting engineering schematics and assembly drawings. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
