This is an excellent patent attorney associate opportunity within an established and steadily growing practice. The primary client responsibilities relate to the preparation and prosecution of life sciences patents and related portfolio strategy, with additional opportunities to serve the clients in other related areas (e.g., infringement, patentability, and freedom to operate opinions; due diligence; PTAB work).
Notably, you will also have substantial client interaction. This firm tends to have excellent and longstanding client relationships, wherein partners and associates are utilized fully. Here, the clients are diverse, ranging from VC backed pre-IPO biotech entities to Universities and major international companies. Subsequently, you will interact with R&D teams and corporate management pertaining to many high value patent families.
This practice has prided itself on stability, low turnover, and maintaining a very collaborative and cooperative culture. Within this practice, associates are mentored and developed as both practitioners and client managers, thus this is an excellent place to grow as a well-rounded attorney.
Patent Attorney Requirements:
- Minimum M.S. in organic chemistry or biochemistry, with a preference for a Ph.D.
- JD, state bar, USPTO bar
- At least 2 years of full time claim drafting experience in the biotech space
Of Counsel or Partner:
If you have a portable book, this could be an outstanding platform within which to integrate your existing portfolio of clients.
