Primary Role:The Kentucky State Police Driver Test Administrator plays an important role in enhancing highway safetythroughout the Commonwealth. They continuously make Kentucky highways safer by ensuring only the mostqualified applicants obtain their license to operate a vehicle on Kentucky roadways.
Driver TestAdministrators are tasked with administering written motor vehicle driver's license examinations and road testexaminations to citizens of the Commonwealth wishing to obtain their operator, motorcycle, moped, orcommercial motor vehicle license, as well as providing basic information to the public. They form a closerelationship with the Transportation Cabinet and area driving schools to ensure drivers have the knowledgethey need and are prepared for the written and road test examinations. These positions will serve at ourregional office in McCracken County, which is open to all driver testing applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer vision, written and skills test for applicants attempting to obtain their Class D or MKentucky motor vehicle driver's license.
- Administer Commercial Driver's License (CDL) general knowledge and endorsement written examinations.
- Answer questions and provide information to the public on the Kentucky driver's licensing testingprocedures.
- Review documents to ensure eligibility of applicants.
- Communicate with the Transportation Cabinet to correct any discrepancies on examination and relevantpaperwork.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors with prolonged periods of sitting and/or riding in vehicles withtesting applicants.
- Travel to other counties in assigned region may be required to cover vacancies.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Must be 21 years of age. Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee has four years of experience as a licensed driver upon appointment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
