Responsibilities
- Partnership: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to identify, engage, and establish partnerships with pharmaceutical companies in alignment with our company's goals. Identify and prioritize potential collaborators, evaluating the strategic fit and potential impact on our research and development initiatives.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry, including executives, decision-makers, and influencers. Act as the primary point of contact for pharmaceutical partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Deal Negotiation: Lead negotiations for collaboration agreements, licensing deals, and other strategic partnerships. Ensure that agreements are mutually beneficial and align with our company's strategic objectives.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Conduct thorough market analyses to identify potential areas for collaboration and business growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Research and Development, Legal, and Marketing to facilitate the successful execution of partnership agreements. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the integration of collaborative efforts.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the company's overall business strategy, providing valuable input based on market dynamics and pharmaceutical industry trends.
- Revenue Generation: Drive revenue generation through the successful negotiation and execution of partnerships, licensing agreements, and other collaborative ventures. Work towards achieving financial targets and contribute to the sustainable growth of the organization.
- Legal Document Review: Collaborate with the legal team to review and analyze legal documents related to partnerships, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding the company's interests. Provide insights and recommendations on legal aspects of proposed collaborations.
- Proposal Preparation: Develop high-quality proposals for potential collaborations, clearly articulating the scientific, technical, and business value of partnerships. Work closely with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure proposals align with the company's capabilities.
- Intellectual Property: May be involved in patenting and protecting intellectual property generated from research activities.
- Ethical Considerations: Ensure that research is conducted with the highest ethical standards, especially in areas that involve human subjects, animals, or potentially controversial research.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with research projects is another important aspect of their role, which can include issues related to safety, compliance, or project delays.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D.) is preferred.
- Experience: >10 years of experience in scientific research and/or business development within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Network: Established network within the pharmaceutical industry, with a demonstrable track record of leveraging existing relationships for successful partnerships.
- Understanding of Pharma Deals: In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical deal landscape, including licensing agreements, collaborations, and strategic partnerships.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific and business concepts effectively.
- Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to think strategically and identify opportunities that align with the company's mission and objectives.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive and innovative work culture.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position.
- Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Travel:
- Willing to travel occasionally. International travel may be required.
