Job Title: Senior Director Business Development

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services headquartered in Alexandria, VA is actively seeking a Senior Director of Business Development. This role is responsible for the growth of the EGS market share in the EGS medical facility, GSA, and BOS Lines of Business and will assist as necessary in the development of intelligence community opportunities. As Senior Director of BD, you will be a leader among peer Directors and Executive Directors to ensure integrated and competitive solutions. This role reports to the President of EMCOR Government Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a winning culture for EGS Business Development that integrates the whole of the company effort in support of proposal excellence.
  2. Responsible for the full Business Development life cycle from market segmentation and long-term positioning in EGS markets, assessing opportunities in each business line, and integrating the capture effort into winning pricing and technical proposal solutions.
  3. Supervise the Director of Proposal Management and the proposal management team.
  4. Team with the VP of Pricing, EBS to integrate the pricing solutions team into one effort to support holistic winning solutions.
  5. Place a primary focus on the best practice industry processes, training, and disciplines required to ensure fully compliant government contracting solutions.
  6. Collaborate with subject matter experts, operations directors, and program and project managers to generate solutions that address client needs and expectations.
  7. Lead gate reviews, participate in technical, management, and pricing strategy development and reviews, and evaluate proposal readiness activities to ensure a seamless transition to proposal management operations following the Shipley method.
  8. Work with Proposal Managers and Pricing Team members to translate voice-of-customer requirements into proposal strategies and win themes. Assist program management and other staff with the development of solicited and unsolicited solutions and generation of proposals.
  9. Work collaboratively with business management and operations staff to define the resource requirements and skillsets needed for successful program execution upon program award.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or business with seven years’ work experience in leadership roles in Business Development and or Operations and Maintenance program management.
  2. This role requires that the successful candidate have a proven track record of successful capture management across multiple government agencies at a variety of acquisition sizes.
  3. Must have strong briefing and writing skills and be comfortable delivering finished work to wide audiences that often include high-ranking customers and senior leadership.
  4. Must have strong interpersonal skills and desire to develop customer and external contractor relationships necessary to position key customer accounts for success.
  5. Must have a proven track record of working collaboratively and effectively in a highly dynamic team environment. Outstanding teamwork skills are required.
  6. Proven experience of winning complex, full and open, Prime opportunities in the Federal environment with emphasis on BOS, Healthcare, and GSA opportunities.
  7. Familiarity with proposal development best practices, such as Shipley or APMP.
  8. Ability to travel as needed for business purposes.
