Position Summary:

We seek a dynamic, results-driven High Energy Proposal Director to lead our proposal development team. This role requires an individual with exceptional leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The High Energy Proposal Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire proposal lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to submitting winning proposals.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Proposal Strategy Development:
    • Analyze government solicitations, RFPs, and market trends to identify business opportunities aligning with company capabilities.
    • Develop strategic approaches for each proposal, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company goals.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of proposal managers, writers, and coordinators.
    • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
  • Proposal Management:
    • Oversee the full proposal development process including planning, scheduling, and compliance checks.
    • Coordinate all aspects of proposal preparation, from kickoff meetings to final production and submission.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Engage with potential and existing government clients to understand their needs and tailor proposals accordingly.
    • Participate in pre-proposal meetings, site visits, and industry days.
    • Business Development Support:
    • Work closely with the business development team to capture new opportunities and enhance win rates.
    • Provide insights and feedback to senior management on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer priorities.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all proposals meet high standards of quality, compliance, and competitiveness.
    • Review proposals for strategic alignment, clarity, and persuasive arguments.
    • Handle both task order proposals and large, multi-faceted proposals that may include oral presentations, client reference checks, and various proposal volumes (technical, past performance, cost, and management).
    • Take end-to-end ownership of the proposal process, ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance with RFP requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
    • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills with an ability to convey complex information clearly.
    • Proficient in proposal software tools like Salesforce, GovWin, or equivalent.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market data and government procurement strategies.
  • Attributes:
    • High energy, proactive, and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in proposal development or business development within government contracting.
  • Proven track record of leading successful proposals in a high-stakes environment.
  • Experience in implementing and documenting proposal processes for a growing company.
  • Strong background in managing and developing technical and management solutions during proposal development.
Certifications:
  • APMP certification preferred.
  • Shipley certification is preferred.


Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per hour
