Duties:
- Analyze and provide legal advice on insurance coverage issues involving professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance.
- Handle complex insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes from inception to resolution.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, dispositive motions, and other litigation-related materials.
- Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including drafting discovery requests and responses, document review, and addressing discovery disputes.
- Conduct depositions and represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and hearings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, managing cases independently and effectively.
- Contribute to business development efforts and client acquisition.
- Collaborate with team members to strategize and implement case plans.
- Stay informed about legal developments and changes in insurance and reinsurance laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance.
- Extensive experience in drafting legal documents, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court.
- Preferred experience in business development, client management, and independent case management.
- Excellent academic credentials with a demonstrated track record of research and writing skills.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to practice in California.
