About the Role:

The Director of Investor Relations will be a strategic leader responsible for articulating Remitly's financial and operational performance to analysts, investors, and key stakeholders. This high-profile role reports to the Vice President of Investor Relations, working closely with the C-suite, finance leadership, and cross-functional teams including FP&A, Accounting, Communications, and Legal. The Director will not only support Remitly’s quarterly earnings process but also provide strategic direction on financial messaging, market positioning, and long-term value creation initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Investor Relations Strategy: Develop a proactive investor relations strategy that aligns with the company's long-term financial and operational goals, while positioning Remitly effectively within the investment community.
  • Executive Leadership Collaboration: Partner with the senior leadership team to provide insights and strategic guidance on market expectations, competitive positioning, and shareholder engagement.
  • Strategic Finance: Support long range planning in partnership with FP&A and provide an investor perspective on strategic planning.
  • Quarterly Earnings & Financial Reporting: Manage quarterly earnings process, including conference call scripts, press releases, investor presentations, and Q&A, ensuring consistency with the company's long-term strategy.
  • Investor Engagement: Act as a point of contact for the investment community, proactively managing relationships with current and prospective investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders.
  • Market and Competitive Intelligence: Oversee the monitoring and analysis of market trends, competitive positioning, and investor sentiment. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership on shifts in market perception and strategic recommendations.
  • Financial Communications: Develop strategic investor communications, including annual reports, investor day materials, and key messaging for industry events. Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all external financial communications.
  • Performance and Benchmarking Analysis: Manage the analysis of sell-side analyst consensus, valuation models, and market performance. Conduct competitive benchmarking and maintain close tracking of financial results and commentary of industry peers.

You'll Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related quantitative field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in investor relations, strategic finance, equity research, investment banking, private equity or capital markets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, corporate strategy, and financial analysis, with a solid understanding of valuation methodologies and capital markets.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing investor relations strategies that align with long-term corporate objectives and drive shareholder value.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication with executive presence.
  • Confidence and experience working closely with C-suite executives and board members.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
  • Passion for technology, financial markets, and strategic investor relations.

Compensation Details:

The starting base salary range for this position is typically $208,000 - $260,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
