A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Cyber/Data/Privacy Associate Attorney or Special Counsel with a high level of academic achievement, the ability to engage directly with clients, lead significant projects, possess general tech fluency, and impeccable analytical and writing skills.

Duties:

1. Engage directly with clients and lead significant projects in the areas of cyber, data, and privacy law.
2. Provide legal counsel on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues (State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies).
3. Defend against data privacy and security class actions, including claims under the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and data breach class actions.
4. Conduct legal research, analysis, and case strategy development.
5. Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.

Requirements:

1. 7+ years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues and/or defending data privacy and security class actions.
2. High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
3. Impeccable analytical and writing skills.

Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications:
Relevant certifications in cyber, data, or privacy law are a plus.
