This role is suited for an attorney with extensive experience in U.S. franchising regulations, skilled in drafting franchise-related agreements and managing regulatory compliance. The position involves providing legal guidance on complex franchise transactions, serving clients both domestically and internationally across various industries.

Duties:

  • Draft and review franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, and related regulatory filings.
  • Advise clients on intricate business transactions within the franchise and distribution sectors.
  • Provide counsel on compliance with U.S. franchising laws and regulatory requirements, addressing both domestic and international aspects.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys on transactional and litigation matters related to franchise law.
  • Support a wide-ranging client portfolio, including start-up franchisors, established franchise corporations, private equity firms, and international businesses expanding into the U.S.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in transactional franchise law.
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. franchise regulations, with preferred experience in international franchising or M&A.
  • Admission to practice law in Washington, or eligibility for admission via waiver.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar or eligibility for admission.
