The successful candidate will be the lead in strategically planning, developing, organizing, directing, and evaluating all information technology needs for Redwood Credit Union (RCU). Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, systems, and technology. Provide for information security across the organization. Additionally, champion increased efficiency and integration of internal-facing and Member-facing technology throughout the organization, remote delivery, product management, project management, lease management, and site selection and disposition of facilities functions of Redwood Credit Union.

Executive Leadership
  • Participate in the development of Redwood Credit Union’s plans and programs as a strategic partner of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures through systems that improve the overall operation and effectiveness.
  • Assess and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems utilized by RCU.
  • Align and evolve RCU’s technical capabilities commensurate with its business model and strategic objectives.
  • Attend and actively participate in Board of Directors meetings, Senior Leadership Team, Project Governance Committee meetings, Technology Integration, strategic planning sessions, etc.
  • Lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
  • Create and manage an enterprise-wide IT security program that is focused on protecting Member information and ensuring the integrity and resilience of RCU’s IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Represent Redwood Credit Union to outside entities such as examiners, auditors, vendors, and support companies.
  • Participate and represent Redwood Credit Union at various internal and external functions to promote its services and commitment to our industry and the communities we serve.
Planning
  • Translate the Credit Union's strategic and tactical business plans into business management strategies and operational plans.
  • Participate in the development of the Credit Union's plans and programs as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop and implement plans and policies to attain goals and objectives, measure progress, and implement adjustments as appropriate.
  • Review and approve short- and long-term goals and objectives for all areas of responsibility.
  • Provide strategic input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the Credit Union, i.e., evaluation of potential properties, alliances, acquisitions, and/or mergers.
  • Direct budget preparation for areas of responsibility and monitor and adjust for variances.
  • Review and identify cost-effective and efficient utilization of Redwood Credit Union resources.
Program Management
  • Review, with direct reports, the employment, counseling, performance evaluation, training, motivation, discipline, and assignment of duties of areas of responsibilities for staff.
  • Develop controls to monitor areas of responsibilities activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of areas of responsibilities, activity statistics, and reports.
  • Delegate, coordinate, and review all work to ensure quality of work and efficient productivity of staff.
  • Conduct leadership meetings to disseminate pertinent information, and discuss procedures, policies, and/or problems to ensure optimum teamwork at all times.
  • Review reports and recommend specific changes to improve efficiency and productivity while keeping costs down.
  • Assure the accurate preparation and timely submittal of reports to appropriate departments and agencies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for direct reports and establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to ensure mutual understanding of desired results.
  • Recruit, select, train, motivate, mentor, evaluate, and develop direct reports.
Non-Essential Functions
  • Staff liaison to various board committees.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts in the community including volunteer centers and non-profit organizations; participate in community events.

Required Experience

• Ability to plan, organize, and effectively run a multi-faceted and dynamic Information Technology department of a mid-size organization.

• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of financial institution information technology methods, practices, and services.

• Current knowledge of all laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to information technology.

• Thorough knowledge of modern management techniques and practices.

• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and public speaking skills.

• Skill in establishing future business directions including developing long-range plans impacting business success.

• Skill in establishing, articulating, and modeling organizational vision and goals.

• Knowledge of computer operations and network and software administration.

• Skill in the operation of a personal computer with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software and Intra/Internet access.

• Ability to analyze problems and opportunities, identify and evaluate alternatives, and develop sound, effective approaches.

• Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives, and work plans.

• Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise team members.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people including directors, regulators, Members, team members, attorneys, vendors, and other parties.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.

• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Education/Experience

A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, or closely related field with a minimum of fifteen years of experience managing an organization's technology infrastructure as well as operations and lending management experience in a financial institution, with at least five years of that experience at a senior management level.

Compensation

Base starting range: $339,000 to $399,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Our base salary starting range is based on the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
