A distinguished law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to join its San Diego office. This role involves advising public school districts and other public agencies across California on a range of labor and employment matters. The successful candidate will bring expertise in public agency law and a passion for advocating on behalf of educational institutions.
Location
Duties
- Provide counsel on labor and employment law matters for public school districts and agencies
- Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and procedures
- Advise on collective bargaining, contract grievances, and dispute resolution
- Handle cases involving discrimination, retaliation, and employee misconduct
- Guide clients through layoffs, disciplinary actions, and dismissals
- Conduct legal research and prepare documentation to support cases
- Collaborate with clients to assess needs and develop legal strategies
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the State Bar of California and in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law, with a preference for public agency or education law
- Proficiency in legal research, writing, and analysis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to serving educational institutions and public agencies
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution
Certifications
- Licensed to practice law in California
