The Director HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and partner to business leaders, aligning HR strategies with organizational goals. This role will support the Apartment Operations Division and will act as an advisor and coach, proactively working with leaders and associates to maximize performance, engagement, development, and retention. Responsible for talent management, performance management design/process, associate engagement, retention, compensation planning, and organization development. Position reports to the Vice President of HR. Direction is provided for assignments in terms of goals and objectives. Work is reviewed/measured by VP HR.
- Facilitate the talent review and succession planning process, including development action planning.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Act as an advisor and provide leadership coaching as needed.
- Guide the performance management processes, including goal setting and performance reviews.
- Partner with business leaders on organizational design and restructuring efforts.
- Collaborate with leaders and provide support on change management strategies for business transformations, restructures, or new initiatives.
- Mitigate risk through partnership with the HR Employee Relations group and proactive issue management.
- Partner with HR Compliance on planning and implementation of wage and hour audits and subsequent actions needed.
- Partner with HR Compensation on pay, including incentive program design, implementation and ad hoc compensation evaluations and facilitation of the annual compensation planning process.
- Facilitate training for leadership development courses, new hire orientation, and ad hoc leader and team development sessions.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruiting strategies and internal recruitment.
- Utilize HR analytics (turnover, survey data) to inform engagement and retention strategies.
- Lead HR projects and initiatives as identified and needed.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of Human Resources experience; 5+ years of strategic HRBP experience preferred.
- Experience in major HR technical areas- learning and development, talent acquisition, compensation, coaching, talent management, associate relations, organizational effectiveness, performance management and associate engagement preferred.

- This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company's MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.
- Valid California driver’s license; Maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $132,400.00 - $176,700.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
