Job Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking an experiencedSchool Social Workerfor afull-time, onsiteposition inBloomfield Hills, MIfor the2024-2025 school year. As a School Social Worker, you will provide critical support to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, licensed professional dedicated to helping students overcome barriers to learning and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provideindividual and group counselingfor students dealing with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
• Assist students in building emotional regulation, social skills, and coping strategies to manage difficult situations.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to address challenges impacting students academic performance, such as trauma, anxiety, and behavioral concerns.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation ofIndividualized Education Plans (IEPs)for students needing additional support.
• Conduct mental health assessments to evaluate the needs of students and assist in developing effective support plans.
• Provide crisis intervention services, including de-escalation and emotional support during emergencies or critical situations.
• Serve as a resource for teachers, parents, and staff on social-emotional issues and mental health resources.
• Maintain confidential records of student interactions, counseling sessions, and progress.
• Lead school-wide initiatives to promote mental health awareness, social-emotional learning (SEL), and positive school culture.
• Make referrals to community mental health providers when necessary and follow up on outside referrals.

Requirements:

• Michigan School Social Worker Authorizationrequired.
• LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker)Certification required.
• Must meetNo Child Left Behind (NCLB)standards.
• Previous experience as a school social worker, preferably in a K-12 school setting.
• Strong knowledge ofIEPs, behavioral support plans, and social-emotional interventions.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting students mental health and academic success.
