We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft. These positions are onsite in Fort Worth, TX. Embedded Software Engineers (across multiple levels) Bell is seeking Embedded Real Time Software Engineers to develop flight software on safety critical air vehicle and mission critical avionics systems in cyber assured environments. These systems control air vehicle components and provide critical data to the pilot. The software must meet the highest levels of safety standards, levels of rigor and design assurances required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD) and National Security Agency (NSA) certification authorities. These positions are part of a diverse team of engineers capable of executing in a fast-paced environment to integrate critical systems on the platform. The ideal candidate for this role is experienced at developing and architecting embedded real-time software, is efficient with automated processes and tools to deliver on-time, high quality, safety assured and cyber assured software. As well as communicate well with the certification authorities to qualify the software in its environment. What you'll be doing as an Embedded Software Engineer: Develop embedded software for Vehicle Management and Flight Control Computers with complex hardware. Perform formal software development through design of requirements-to-requirements verification with C/C code and various toolsets. Conduct software integration and testing on target hardware with Low-Level Test (LLT) and High-Level Test (HLT) software cases and expected results. Develop and implement safety critical control software in both bare metal' main executives and real time operating system environments. Design and implement real time embedded control functionality including Pilots Cautions, Fuel control, Data transfer, in-line monitoring, redundancy management, and built-in-test (BIT). Design and test with embedded DO-178 and DO-331 software processes. Support all phases of development through successful design, qualification, integration testing, flight test, certification and production. Analyze and resolve hardware/software integration issues as they arise. Qualifications Skills You Bring To this Role: Multiple levels will be considered for this position with a minimum of 2 years' embedded software work experience required. Experience with derivation of system, software, and component level requirements, hardware/software integration, and system level verification/validation. Experience with the embedded hardware and software integration in flight controls/aerospace software development in a VxWorks 653 or similar RTOS environment. Certification of airborne system/software processes (DO-178, DO-297. DO-326, DO-254, and ARP 4754a). C or C experience in a Linux development environment using DevOps or Agile processes. Communication Standards such as ARINC 429, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, and Networking (TCP/IP, TSN, DDS). Experience with Git version control system or change management systems. Bachelor's degree with a Major in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
