Job Title: Surgical Services Technician Job Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:30 - 17:00) Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period Experience: Open to first-time travelers License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Willingness to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year Job Description: - Preferred patient demographics: Pediatrics (minimal), Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics - Daily average case volume: 30 - On-call requirement: Yes, 1 weekend/month and 1-2 shifts/week - Willingness to float between like units required - Open to accommodating block schedule at the manager's discretion - Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower rate - Pending license not accepted - Must include any requested time off at submission - Supervisor references required: Minimum of 2 covering 1 year (or 6 months for CNAs) within the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting - Travelers may float between nearby sister facilities as needed - Completion of non-billable modules: Average 16 hours spent; over 20 hours requires prior approval - Orientation: 40 hours non-billable - Facility description: Acute care hospital with total staffed beds of 150 - Scrub color: Any solid color for RN, typically Royal Blue or Navy; OR/Cath Lab provided; dark solid colors for Radiology; Forest Green for RRT; Caribbean blue for CNAs - Charting system: Epic - Free parking on the first day, with assignment given during orientation - COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required - Flu Vaccine: Status unknown
