The Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries and ultimately change the world. We design, manufacture, and support a broad range of high-performance microscopy and spectroscopy workflows on wafers and single chips that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. We combine hardware and software expertise in electron and ion microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets. Our worldwide Electron Microscopy colleagues are dedicated to our customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.
How will you make an impact? As an Operations Engineer, you will be part of a passionate and hardworking team in Eindhoven working with our ground-breaking Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). This position within Operations Engineering will play a key role to support the scaling up of electron beam source manufacturing according to the company’s product roadmap. This role will allow you to be at the pivotal position within the organization. You will be part of a dedicated (global) team that will work on product quality improvements to accelerate product quality to better meet our customer expectations and to reduce customer impact. You will investigate and define actions on DOA (Dead on Arrival) and IPR (Install Parts Request). You will also be responsible for conducting detailed analytical analysis using methods like 8D steps and 5why’s. Furthermore, you will not only work multi-functionally with R&D, Service, Logistics, Product Lifecycle Management, Quality, Sourcing and Supply Chain partners located in Eindhoven, but also have a close collaboration with the counterparts in Brno (CZ).
What will you do? •
Work in compliance with legislation and IMS (required for all). •
Lead and manage the implementation of Failure Analysis, making use of all available resources and equipment to accurately determine and implement appropriate corrective measures. •
Conduct detailed analytical analysis of system or component level problems using established methods. •
Provide technical support to the factory to ensure robustness, quality, and reliability of products. •
Review and support the supply chain with engineering expertise, including the analysis of parts for reliability and supplier technical quality issues. •
Provide assistance to Field Service/GTS by addressing product issues and devising plans to resolve on-site concerns for customers. •
Monitor and document changes, provide updates, and communicate results to the relevant individuals or teams involved.
How will you get there? Demonstrable experience in the field of Engineering (in a hi-tech manufacturing environment); Knowledge and/or experience with electron microscopy is a huge plus Bachelor/Master's degree in a technical field, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Equivalent experience will also be considered. Ability to cope with the dynamics in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in creating comprehensive documentation and engineering reports using widely used Microsoft Office and Acrobat applications. Demonstrated ability to plan and resolve issues involving diverse groups and sites. Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for discerning details Ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required. Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing), Dutch is a huge plus Business communication skills with a collaborative attitude Knowledge about Statistical engineering would be advantageous
