Job Title: Cath Lab Technician Job Specialty: Cath Lab Technician Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM, weekend required Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certifications: - BLS Provider, American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted - Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date - Radiologic Technologist issued by Radiology Tech licensure issued by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency required in combination with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred Must-Have: - High school diploma equivalency with 1-2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience - BLS, ACLS certifications Job Description: - Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients - Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately - Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations - Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity - Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted - Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines - Perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular, and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures - Assist the Radiologist/PA during procedures - Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards This job description outlines the key responsibilities and requirements for a Cath Lab Technician.
