The Washington, DC office of Dentons US LLP is seeking a Staff Associate with excellent academic credentials and 2-4 years of experience to join our Chambers 1 ranked Native American Law and Policy group within the Federal Regulatory & Compliance Practice. Expected responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: Representing tribal governments before the United States Congress Assisting tribes exercise and protect their sovereignty while navigating legal and regulatory issues. Engaging with federal agencies and congressional staff, conducting research, and writing policy updates Conducting and managing legal research and writing Supporting the team by performing work on other matters as needed Pursuant to Washington, DC law, the salary range for this position is $150,000 - $225,000 based on experience. Dentons US LLP offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses. 2 - 4 years of legal experience required Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred Experience in government affairs and advocacy, public policy and regulation, trust land acquisitions, or land claims is preferred Other requirements
Must be licensed to practice law in Washington, DC and be in good standing. Washington, DC candidates may also be licensed in any US state or territory if they are also eligible to waive into the Washington DC Bar pursuant to DC Court of Appeals Rule 49 and agree to apply for an Exception to admission Equal opportunities
