Summary of Position
Lionsgate is looking for an experienced litigator to join its legal team. The attorney will gain experience serving all departments, including corporate, motion picture, television, and sales. The role reports to the EVP & Associate General Counsel. Responsibilities
Research and provide advice to relevant internal stakeholders, with an eye towards practical solutions, in connection with pre-litigation and litigation matters. Assist with the management of litigation assigned to outside counsel, including with regard to coordinating and directing litigation strategy. Review and edit pleadings, briefs, written discovery, and other documents prepared for litigation matters. Manage requests from business groups for enforcement of IP rights in the studio’s titles. Manage and respond to subpoenas. Provide additional support for rest of the legal team as may be requested, including, for example, by providing input on draft agreements. Work with brokers to maintain and procure insurance coverage, and oversee claims. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills
JD from an accredited law school and a current member of the California Bar. 7 to 10 years of litigation experience, with an emphasis on complex contractual and intellectual property disputes, with studio experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to strategize and manage litigation. Exceptional legal research and writing skills. The ability to efficiently communicate and interact with senior level management. Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. About the Company
