The One 23 Group, headquartered in Virginia, seeks an Enterprise Data Architect local to the Washington DC Metropolitan area to support DHS TSA in delivering enterprise-level data architecture services that drive mission-critical outcomes. Requirements:Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Data Architect to support TSA’s Enterprise Architecture (EA) program. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise information and data architecture capabilities. You will be responsible for delivering advanced data solutions and providing strategic guidance on emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with TSA’s mission to secure the nation’s transportation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Lead the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of conceptual and logical data models (using Erwin) at enterprise, segment, and solution levels, focusing on domains such as aviation security, biometrics, geospatial, and cloud environments.
- Data Governance & Strategy: Develop and enforce enterprise data governance policies and architectural standards, ensuring data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Foster collaboration with stakeholders to align data architecture with mission needs and federal guidelines.
- Emerging Technologies: Research and provide strategic insights on advanced technologies such as semantic technologies, machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA), and their application in enterprise-level solutions. Conduct pilot projects and develop roadmaps for AI/ML and automation initiatives.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and federal stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze existing data architecture, and deliver as-is and to-be enterprise information/data views.
- Cloud & Geospatial Data Integration: Provide technical guidance for migrating geospatial technologies and data management solutions to platforms such as Salesforce and AWS. Support the Geospatial Management Office with comprehensive data architecture services.
- Enterprise Information Management: Lead efforts to standardize, streamline, and improve information sharing across the organization, driving data architecture maturity through best practices in data modeling and information management.
- CDO Function Support: Assist in establishing the Chief Data Officer (CDO) function by providing strategic data architecture expertise and implementing best practices to support data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
Required Skills and Experience
- Expertise in Data Architecture: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data architecture, including hands-on expertise with data modeling, database management, and data warehousing. Proficiency in using tools such as Erwin, ServiceNow, Orbus, and AWS.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise data strategies, aligning data architecture with business goals, and guiding cross-functional teams to achieve enterprise objectives.
- Technical Competency: Strong understanding of cloud-based data management solutions (e.g., AWS, Salesforce) and emerging technologies (AI, ML, RPA). Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, and other database technologies is essential.
- Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to lead discussions and facilitate meetings with stakeholders at all levels.
- Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required. DHS clearance or the ability to obtain one is mandatory.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems. Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, DAMA, or AWS Cloud Architecture are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data Governance Expertise: Demonstrated experience in data governance, data quality management, and data security in a federal or highly regulated environment.
- Geospatial Expertise: Experience in supporting geospatial data initiatives and integrating geospatial technologies with enterprise systems.
- Agile & Cloud Experience: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and cloud migration strategies within large-scale, complex environments.
