BI Maintenance Analyst - Job Description
Scout Energy Partners is a private energy investment manager, focused on providing upstream oil and gas investments for institutional investors. Scout's business is both the management of the private energy funds and the operations of the oil and gas assets it owns. The current employee base is approximately 1200 with 200 employees in the Dallas (headquarters) office.
Scout is seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Maintenance Analyst to support, maintain, and improve our BI tools and dashboards. The role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and accuracy of existing BI solutions, enabling our team to deliver timely and actionable insights. The position will work closely with senior analytics team members and leadership to maintain and expand the current BI infrastructure, allowing senior leadership to focus on innovation, development, and strategic planning. This position will be both an Analytics & BI Team member at the corporate group level and report to Scout's Director of Business Development.
Duties & Responsibilities Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, & Support:
Maintain existing dashboards & reports in response to business needs & changes in data sources Monitor, troubleshoot, & resolve issues related to BI tools, dashboards, & data pipelines Ensure data integrity across all data platforms by conducting regular audits & validation checks Implement minor enhancements to existing BI solutions to improve usability & performance Collaborate with the BI team to identify areas of improvement in the current BI environment Report back to senior staff on potential opportunities & needs within the organization for new BI use cases, analytics expansion & integration
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, issue resolutions & system changes Support Analytics leadership in documentation of roadmap & strategy development efforts Provide regular updates & reports on the status of BI systems to Analytics leadership
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Experience with BI Tools (Spotfire, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) or extensive programming & data science experience Experience in developing & maintaining analytical oriented BI & Web App tools Proficiency in SQL & understanding of relational databases Familiarity with ETL processes & data warehousing concepts & the ability to support data pipeline management Familiarity with basic programming logic & capabilities (Python, R, C#, etc.)

Demonstrated knowledge of Oil & Gas operations & industry software such as PHDWin, Petra, ESRI Platform (ArcGIS) Experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse environment and/or Sigma Computing Analytics platform Web App development & deployment (Dash, Streamlit, etc.) experience Experience with geoprocessing & spatial analysis Experience with AI/ML model development & training, including LLM AI models Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field 1-2 years' experience in BI, data analysis, or a related role preferred
