The Product Specialist is considered an expert on materials, trims, pricing and value-added finishes for all Outdoor Cap products. They closely collaborate in-network, cross-departmentally and externally to aid in building cohesive, customer-relevant product lines. The Product Specialist maintains pricing and product details to ensure compliance, licensing and customer regulations are met while staying ahead of global factors that might impact delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Chooses factory partner by customer product based on knowledge of factory capabilities and production output
- Chooses fabrics, techniques, shapes and trims within project pricing parameters and guidelines
- Submits orders and accurately communicates product specifications with factories
- Ensures all product information is received and correct for on-time delivery
- Monitors, logs and revises changes to incoming/outgoing samples
- Communicates changes in a comprehensive way to Design to meet production and/or customer requirements
- Monitors, logs and revises changes to pricing, tracking and production sheets
- Implements accurate fabric specifications, size grading rules and construction/labeling requirements
- Monitors, logs and revises changes for all compliance, licensing and customer requirements
- Provides Licensing department with design assets and/or samples to receive Licensor approval prior to showing customers -
- Executes color standards matching before production
- Prepares product samples for meetings and reviews
- Participates in quality check and sample approval process before sending for production approval
- Keeps all necessary parties informed of updates on project status and timeline changes
- Archives and retires product samples as needed
- Must be present and working during the assigned 8-hour shift between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internal PDS system
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Highly proficient with verbal and written communication; adept to exchange accurate information and engage in conflict resolution strategies
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend and move inside the office to access files and product.
- Adapt to moderate noise (Example: collaborative team environment, office with computers, printing and light traffic)
- Ability to move 10-25 lbs occasionally throughout day
- Able to hear a telephone ring
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
