Position Overview The Business Intelligence (BI) Data Analyst is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. The right candidate will have very strong presentation and relationship-building skills. The BI Data analyst works closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging data visualization tools, statistical methods, and storytelling techniques to identify trends, opportunities, and performance improvements. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, process, and analyze large data sets to identify trends and insights. Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Domo, and Excel. Business Intelligence Development: Design and implement BI solutions to support organizational goals. Work closely with data science and data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into analytical requirements. Present findings and recommendations to leadership, Upshop customers, and other teams in a clear, concise manner. Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure business performance. Conduct root-cause analysis to address operational challenges or inefficiencies. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose data-driven solutions. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging BI tools, and best practices. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field. Master's degree a plus, but not required. Experience: 2 years of experience in a data analytics, BI, or similar role. Proven experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms. Prior experience with Domo strongly preferred Technical Skills: Proficiency in BI platforms and data visualization tools. Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Azure experience preferred Advanced SQL skills for querying and managing complex datasets. Strong understanding of database management, big data technologies, and data governance principles. Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics is a plus. Knowledge of Maui and/or C# a plus. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Deep understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into actionable data insights. Excellent communication and storytelling skills to convey insights to non-technical audiences. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in grocery or retail industries preferred. Advanced certifications in BI tools or data analytics.
