Job Description Job Title: Heavy Civil Estimator We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator with 2-5 years of experience in estimating earthworks/excavation, underground wet utilities, and site concrete for large-scale civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, the ability to evaluate costs, and proficiency in estimating software (Bid2Win preferred). Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including earthworks, excavation, underground wet utilities, and site concrete. Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to determine project requirements. Conduct quantity take-offs and assess labor, material, and equipment costs. Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary data for estimating. Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes and negotiate prices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and labor rates. Assist in the preparation of change orders and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle. Use Bid2Win software (highly preferred) to generate cost estimates and maintain bid databases. Qualifications: 2-5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction (earthworks, excavation, underground utilities, site concrete). Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, methods, and materials. Proficiency with Bid2Win estimating software is highly preferred. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
