Role description: Arcadis is looking for an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Systems Engineer with 3 or more years of experience to join our Water Business Line in our White Plains, New York office. This is an exciting opportunity for an I&C Systems Design Engineer, with process control, automation, and SCADA integration experience. The selected candidate will be responsible for I&C and SCADA design, implementation, and configuration services for diverse clients and projects for environmental remediation, industrial & municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems and facilities. Role accountabilities: Coordination : Coordinate with other disciplines and perform engineering and design to develop drawings and specifications, as well as perform construction management for projects. This role will also involve cross collaboration with process and mechanical engineers on the project to develop process control functional narratives. SCADA : Program process control logic in PLCs and configure graphical HMI for SCADA systems on a variety of platforms. Develop both PLC programs and HMI graphics based on comprehensive understanding of process and operational requirements as well as end user experience. Configure historical data collection, archiving and report generation on a variety of platforms. Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkout, and startup of I&C and SCADA system startups. Prepare technical memoranda and develop design criteria, SCADA system architecture, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA network diagrams, and panel layout diagrams. Utilize technical experience and expertise in the execution of I&C and SCADA projects from inception to successful startup and turnover. Produce effective and accurate written specifications for implementing I&C and SCADA projects Travel : Travel to client sites and other Arcadis office locations as needed. This may require some short term travel in the region for project meetings, site visits, etc. Other expected duties: Will included mentorship of junior engineers and designers as well as assisting project managers with planning, developing project scope of work, budgeting, cost estimating, and project scheduling tasks. Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field of study. 3 or more years of I&C, automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Willingness to travel (25%). Proficiency with developing design documents in all stages of design, from design concepts in basis of design reports to detailed design in bidding documents. Ability to self-direct and work on multiple assignments at once while meeting project deliverable dates and completing other task-driven assignments. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project). Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $133,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
