Summary: Goldbelt CP Marine is seeking a Cost Estimator to support the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) in Norfolk, VA. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: This position works under the supervision of a senior cost estimator. Develop detailed cost estimates for projects based on project plans, specifications, and other relevant information. Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and associated costs. Analyze historical data, industry standards, and market trends to generate accurate cost estimates. Gather and evaluate information from subcontractors and suppliers to incorporate into cost estimates. Prepare and present cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit margins. Identify potential cost risks and provide recommendations to mitigate financial impacts on projects. Ensure that estimates are consistent with project scopes, specifications, and contractual requirements. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and justifications. Monitor and track project costs, comparing them with estimates to identify variances and suggest corrective actions. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cost estimation principles, techniques, and tools. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present estimates and financial information clearly to stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree At least 5 years of experience cost modeling. Ability to travel up to 50%.
