We have partnered with an Engineering Consulting Firm in the Denver, CO area to provide them with a Stormwater Engineer-In-Training. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.
Prioritized must haves for the Stormwater Engineer-In-Training:
#1. BS in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering
#2. Engineer-in-Training certification
#3. Experience with some or all of the following: Open Roads Designer SUDA, Civ3D SSA, CivilStorm, SRH2D, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS2D, HY-8
Responsibilities for the Stormwater Engineer-In-Training:
The selected engineer will be technically proficient and have excellent communication skills. Duties will include engineering work on stormwater projects and transportation drainage related projects from initial startup through final design. The projects will be primarily located in Colorado but may also include work in other states.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drainage design including the design of storm sewers, culverts, water quality facilities, open channels, and bridge hydraulics.
- Understand and help guide projects through regulatory agency permitting processes
- Ensure proper standards and methodologies are being used on projects
- Assist in preparing design plans
- Assist in writing drainage and water quality reports
- Coordinate efforts as part of a design team to produce complete and accurate design work.
- Work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and contribute to the growth of the Stormwater group.
- Responsible for drainage related tasks on stormwater and related design projects.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management designs standards.
- Assist in design of erosion control and/or stormwater management plans.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with design software, including Open Roads Designer SUDA, Civil 3D SSA, CivilStorm, SRH2D, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, and HY-8.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
- Experience collaborating with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
- Experience working with local municipalities.
- Familiarity with GIS technology.
- Proficiency in some or all of the following software: ORD SUDA, Civil 3D SSA, CivilStorm, SRH2D, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, and HY-8.
