The Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager will work closely with project team members to manage and execute a variety of projects. This individual will be responsible for planning, design, coordination, and execution of projects as well as project and client management.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional services for civil engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors.
- Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of facilities, such as water supply and distribution systems, and water treatment plants.
- Lead specific tasks of large projects or manage smaller projects and manage and mentor performance of assigned project team members including other Project Engineers, Engineers in Training, and Engineering Technicians.
- Work within multi-discipline projects that include civil, electrical, and architectural to coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.
- Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
- Assist in maintaining budgets and schedules of project assignments and in maintaining quality client relationships and communication.
- Assist the Water Practice Leader in identifying, evaluating, pursuing, and managing project opportunities.
- Maintain existing client relationships and assist with pursuing relationships with new clients.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field with 7+ years of engineering experience with water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with clients and successfully leading teams within multi-discipline projects and ability to multi-task to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with ability to work remotely.
- Maintain stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgement and aptitude among peers, management, and staff.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin design standards and permitting.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- Master's degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of project financials.
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town.
