Senior Staff Engineer

Sterling Design Support Services (SDS2), a unit of iQuasar LLC for one of their clients is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join its engineering firm providing services throughout Dallas, Texas. This individual must perform assigned project tasks and be technically accurate, on time, within the budget, and exceed PE expectations.

• Position: Senior Staff Engineer
• Location: Dallas, Texas
• Position Type: On-Site

Qualifications:

• Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Must juggle multiple tasks
• Must have experience with one of the following materials: wood, steel, concrete, or masonry.
• Must have experience in one of the following building/project types: URM/concrete retrofit, K-12 schools, Community Colleges, 2-story or more wood frame, 2-story or more steel frame, Concrete tilt-up, 2-way podium slab design.
• Must have the ability to use some engineering analysis software, e.g., Risa3D, Enercalc, SAP, ETABS, RAM, MS Excel, MS Word.
• Have a PE license or be qualified to take the PE exam (i.e. at a minimum successfully passed the EIT)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• 3 to 4 years of experience

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining technical support to all of the supervisors and Company's Clients.
• Responsible for quality assurance functions and quality assurance of work performed by subordinates.
• Become proficient in use of Building Codes.
• Exhibit continual accuracy and proficiency in development of loads, calculations, details and drawings.
• Responsible for ensuring SEs have tools and materials to allow them to perform properly and meet the technical and budgeting goals.
• Assists SEs, as necessary, by guiding them and assisting in clearly explaining and teaching them to increase their proficiency.
• Works with Client's to execute changes to plans and details.
• Site visits and client meetings.
• Works with vendors and clients to develop long-term relationships.
• Performs any other duties and tasks as may be assigned, from time to time, by the Associate.
