SUMMARY

The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is a non-profit membership organization that serves the needs of tree care professionals, and promotes the profession of arboriculture around the world. ISA is known as the industry authority on research, education and professional development. Each role in the organization plays an important part in delivering excellent member benefits and customer service. The Intern provides general Human Resources support with a variety of clerical activities and HR tasks. The intern will be responsible for gathering information to ensure prompt and seamless flow of communication, incoming and outgoing mail distribution, ordering office supplies, errands, clerical duties, and special projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Human Resources Administration Intern:
  • Assists with recruiting process.
  • Assists with onboarding new team members.
  • Launch of onboarding task
  • Communication and follow up with vendor on support requests
  • Employee Record Maintenance
  • Employee Self-Service Portal Maintenance
  • Providing technical support to end users.
  • Maintaining files
  • Scanning and electronic filing
  • Assisting with the Performance Review process
  • Assisting with Open Enrollment (benefits)
Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Position requires bachelor's degree in related field and a combination of 3 or more years of relevant work experience in HR, Systems Administration and Policy, and/or HRIS. Additional IT related coursework from a two- or four-year

college is preferred.

Language Skills
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus
  • Ability to write reports, policies, procedures, recommendations, and correspondence.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-onone and group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.
Decision Making/Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or practical thinking to a range of intellectual and everyday problems.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in multiple areas of discipline.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to develop charts, graphs, and process maps.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
