SUMMARY
The Technical Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering technical training programs for production staff in can making, can filling and Variety Pack Operations using classroom, LMS, and OJT methods. This role ensures that employees are adequately trained in operating machinery, following safety protocols, and adhering to quality standards to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Training Development: Design and develop comprehensive training programs and materials for production processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Regularly update training content to incorporate new techniques, technologies, and regulations.
- Training Delivery: Conduct classroom-style and hands-on training sessions for new hires and current employees. Facilitate on-the-job training (OJT) to ensure practical application of skills using various methods, including simulations, e-learning, workshops, and one-on-one coaching. Execute and evaluate the initial 2-week on-the-job training curriculum, manage training information in the LMS, and support employee skills development throughout the onboarding process (30/60/90 days). Assist with the Chasing Excellence curriculum and delivery.
- Knowledge Transfer: Break down complex concepts into understandable terms for learners. Assess trainee understanding, conduct one-on-one feedback sessions, and adjust training as needed.
- Evaluation and Assessment: Assess trainees' skills and competencies through evaluations and practical tests. Monitor and track training progress, maintaining detailed records of training activities and employee performance. Provide feedback to trainees and supervisors on training effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with production, quality control, and safety departments to ensure training programs align with operational goals. Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and external trainers for specialized training sessions. Identify training needs, update training materials, and address training related issues concerning the production process. Establish and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all training programs comply with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Promote a culture of safety and quality within the production team. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive training records and prepare reports on training outcomes and employee development. Analyze training data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Ensure accurate records of training activities, attendance, and performance, enforcing adherence to company guidelines and protocols.
- Troubleshooting Support: Support production employees in dealing with machine malfunctions or operational issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the training subject matter.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion process improvement initiatives to enhance the training environment and production safety and quality.
- Reporting: Report to the Training & Development Manager and perform assignments as directed by management.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for experience in the beverage can making and filling industry.
- Prior experience in a training or instructional role is highly desirable, showcasing the candidate's ability to effectively develop and deliver technical training programs.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms, training software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting capabilities, time-management skills, attention to detail, leadership, adaptability, and conflict resolution abilities are also essential for effective training and collaboration within the team.
