Role: Oracle Fusion Finance Functional Consultant

Location: Boston, MA

Job Summary:
  • The Oracle Finance Functional Consultant is responsible for implementing and managing Oracle Financials applications to support the financial operations of the organization. This role involves analyzing business needs, configuring Oracle Financials modules, providing training and support to users, and ensuring the efficient operation of financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Implementation and Configuration:
  • Lead the implementation of Oracle Financials modules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and Cash Management.
  • Configure Oracle Financials applications according to business requirements and best practices.
  • Develop functional specifications for custom reports, interfaces, and data conversions.
Business Analysis:
  • Work with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
  • Analyze and map business processes to Oracle Financials capabilities.
  • Identify gaps and propose solutions to enhance financial processes and systems.
Support and Maintenance:
  • Provide day-to-day support for Oracle Financials users, resolving issues and ensuring smooth system operation.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including patching and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues.
Training and Documentation:
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users and super-users.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user guides, process flows, and configuration details.
Project Management:
  • Participate in project planning and management activities.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Track and report project progress, risks, and issues.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
  • Develop test plans and execute system testing.
  • Ensure that new functionalities and customizations meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and obtain sign-offs.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Oracle Financials (preferred).
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Financials Functional Consultant.
  • Proven track record of implementing and supporting Oracle Financials modules.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12 or Oracle Cloud Financials.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience in data migration and integration projects.
