Job Summary
The Account Services Coordinator is responsible for performing the organization's program accounts receivable functions, including developing and maintaining systems, issuing bills for Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) program service fees, serving as a resource for families, third parties, and others, and providing excellent customer service.

Coordinate with other members of the Financial Services Team to best serve our participants and families for items surrounding program service fee billing Demonstrate independent decision-making, planning and follow through Facilitate positive relationships with community partners and promote MICC Maintain confidentiality and promote respect for all MICC participants, staff, families, and others Manage billing system and implement changes to the system, as needed Sustain effective and professional communication with individuals inside and outside of MICC Other duties as assigned Duties & Responsibilities
Program Accounts Receivable
Manage all Program Accounts Receivable functions for MICC including gathering documentation, creating and maintaining a funding profile, building and modifying payment plans, and correctly billing various parties based on that plan Process and correctly apply payments Troubleshoot and coordinate follow-up responses to late or missing payments from all sources Create and maintain aging and outstanding collections reports Serve as a resource to address billing questions from parents, support planners, case managers, and others while providing excellent customer service Financial Services
Coordinate and collaborate with MICC staff to ensure changes to third party funding, MICC programs, and/or service delivery structure that could impact Financial Services are known and communicated Develop and implement MICC's Financial Services policies and procedures in consultation with the Director of Program Finance and Analysis and the Financial Services Team Manage the scheduling, review, production, distribution, and tracking of annual forms and communications as assigned including the financial agreement, program billing forms, and other Financial Services materials Produce reports and maintain financial dashboards for all programs including sources of payment, waiver status, collections, and other metrics upon request Billing System Management
Create and implement data monitoring and control systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy of billing Construct and maintain systems to standardize the billing process for program service fees Establish and maintain standards for data entry and participant records Research, recommend and implement software solutions for participant billing and various forms of payment acceptance Serve as primary internal customer service contact for families regarding training and use of the system Set up protocols for and implement annual updates of participant/ family data based on both the school/fiscal year and each participant's specific plan year Requirements
Education & Experience
Relevant Bachelor's degree or other eligible credentials 2-3 years of accounting experience (Accounts Receivable or financial services experience. Nonprofit experience preferred.) Experience billing waivers or working with Financial Management Services (FMS) a plus Desire to work in an environment that supports autistic and neurodivergent young adults a plus Skills & Abilities
Advanced knowledge of database management, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc., Sage Intacct or other accounting software experience preferred Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision-making, and negotiating skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and administrative, as well as verbal and written communication skills Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and good judgment Maintain confidentiality of organizational, employee, family, and participant information Demonstrate professionalism in work performance and communication with others Must reside in Minnesota Benefits
