Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to support and optimize our enterprise IT infrastructure. In this role, you’ll manage technologies including Enterprise Windows servers, Active Directory, VMware ESX, Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, NetBackup, SQL, and IIS, ensuring seamless operations and security compliance across platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, bringing a strategic mindset and strong communication skills to lead projects. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with Citrix, VMware, Windows Server, and SAN infrastructure, with added expertise in security compliance and healthcare environments. Responsibilities:
Communicate with co-workers, internal analysts, and external vendors to research problems and find solutions.
Design, build, and continually improve all facets of Active Directory, to include OU structure, security, permissions, and group policy.
Evaluate, design, and build new servers and systems in both cloud and on-premise environments.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Perform advanced scripting to automate common tasks (patching, reporting, account creation, etc.).
Perform periodic analysis of server and system infrastructure to support capacity planning.
Manage and adhere to all facets of the Change Management Process when making changes to infrastructure systems.
Create all documentation regarding installation, configuration procedures, system documentation, and Standard Operation Manual (SOM).
Work on various on-going technology projects as assigned.
Provide Tier 3 support and handle escalations from Service Desk and other support teams.
Participate in, and when requested lead, all efforts related to audits and compliance.
Provide afterhours support (on call) on a rotating schedule.
Travel to other Eyecare Partners facilities, when deemed necessary by IT management.
Assists with other duties as directed by management.
Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years related experience at the same level and/or formal training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 4 years of experience effectively managing servers, storage, and infrastructure systems for large enterprise organizations
• Experience working with multi-location offices, across different geographies, including remote management of infrastructure equipment
• Technical depth and experience with Microsoft Technologies (Active Directory, OS, Applications, Management tools, etc.).
• Technical depth and experience with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) technologies (Cisco) preferred.
• Technical depth and experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred).
• Knowledge and depth of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Knowledge and depth of experience with of CIS standards.
• Knowledge and depth of experience with ITIL standards and IT SOX Controls
• Knowledge and depth of experience with Change and Configuration Management standards
• Knowledge and depth of experience with interfacing and work with an outsourced partner
• Experience with email administration (O365 and Gmail) and email security tools
• Experience with healthcare systems (Ophthalmology and Optometry preferred)
• Experience with medical device integrations preferred
• Proven and demonstrable project coordination/management skills using industry standard methodologies
• Independent, highly motivated, skilled in multi-tasking, and strong communication skills (presentation, written and verbal)
• Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail, with a track record of taking ownership and driving results
• Extensive experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
• Must be organized, self-motivated, fast paced, able to adapt to change quickly and able to respond to customer’s needs quickly or find the right person to do so
• Exceptional conflict resolution skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management
