Position Description

The

Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) Specialist

will be responsible for:

Program Implementation : Implementing and maintaining programs for safety, health, and environmental protection. Regulatory Compliance : Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Inspections and Oversight : Conducting inspections and overseeing best management practices. Emergency Planning : Participating in emergency planning activities. Program Integration : Integrating safety, health, and environmental programs in a manufacturing environment. Training : Providing training to employees and subcontractors on SH&E protocols. Program Development : Developing and implementing programs to ensure regulatory obligations are met in a cost-effective manner and SH&E risks are effectively managed. Reporting : Preparing related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies. Hazardous Materials Management : Assisting with hazardous material and waste management, groundwater remediation, air emissions reporting, wastewater reporting, and environmental sustainability initiatives. Supervisory Responsibilities : May include some supervisory duties, primarily focusing on coordinating and leading projects. Additional Duties : Other duties and job responsibilities as assigned. Skills Required

Hazardous Waste Management : Previous experience with hazardous waste management. Regulatory Knowledge : Understanding of SH&E regulations (OSHA, RCRA, DOT, ADEM, EPA) and modern SH&E management principles. Communication : Ability to effectively communicate complex information with employees and all levels of site management, both written and verbal. Teamwork and Initiative : Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take individual initiative. Process Evaluation : Ability to evaluate industrial processes and develop appropriate solutions. Project Management : Strong project management skills. Audit Familiarity : Experience with audit processes. Coaching and Consulting : Ability to coach and consult with line management at all levels to build a culture and processes that lead to excellent SH&E performance. Organizational Skills : Exceptional organizational skills. Meeting Facilitation : Experience in facilitating meetings and working groups. SH&E Management Systems : Basic knowledge of Safety/Health & Environmental Management Systems (ISO 45001/ISO 14001 requirements). Technical Proficiency : Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Skills Preferred

Scientific Knowledge : Knowledge of engineering, chemical, physical, and biological sciences. Environmental Program Management : Experience managing significant environmental programs, including hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, and spill prevention. Certifications : CHMM, CSP, CIH certification. Experience Required

Professional Experience : 3+ years of experience in Safety, Health, and/or Environmental roles within a manufacturing, industrial, regulatory, or consulting company with increasing responsibilities. Experience Preferred

Bachelor's Degree : Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, or an equivalent field.
