SeKON is seeking a skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) Information Technology (IT) Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects while serving as a trusted advisor on best practices and strategies. In this role, you will leverage your advanced expertise in IT project management to manage high-impact initiatives, guide cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

With over 25 years of experience, SeKON specializes in providing large-scale health IT programs in support of federal government customers including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning and Leadership: Oversee the planning, initiation, and execution of high-priority IT projects, ensuring they align with strategic goals. Provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams throughout all project phases. Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level project managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Share expertise on project management best practices. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a senior liaison between technical and business teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals, expectations, and deliverables. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans to ensure successful project outcomes. Assess Business Implications: Evaluate the business impact of each project stage, ensuring initiatives deliver maximum value and align with organizational priorities. Compliance and Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor project performance using advanced tools and methodologies, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to improve project management processes, methodologies, and frameworks to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in IT systems, software development methodologies, and emerging technologies. REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with a proven record of delivering large-scale, complex projects. Expertise in leadership roles and mentoring others is essential. Certifications (Preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, Scrum Master), or equivalent credentials. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of IT systems, cloud solutions, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project). Knowledge: Extensive understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid), risk management, and IT infrastructure. Familiarity with ITIL processes and governance frameworks is a plus. Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
