Process Engineer I
for our
Casa Grande, AZ, USA
location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Provide Materials and Process Engineering support in the manufacture of honeycomb and/or aerospace parts. Edit Work Center Instructions (WCI's) for specific processes (new and existing). Lead Continuous Improvement projects. Demonstrating a basic understanding of project management. Analyze data, develop conclusions, and implement recommendations. Demonstrate a basic understanding of machinery and trouble shooting and an ability to implement recommendations. Support root cause investigations into process and production issues. Demonstrating a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and processing equipment. Perform evaluations on new and existing materials and processes and optimize current processes. Develop process plans (specific to equipment and products). Develop data collection plans (in support of production performance, trouble-shooting and continuous improvement). Define process variables that contribute to the performance, cost, and yield of honeycomb products and/or aerospace parts. Actively pursue improvements in performance, cost, and yield. Develop information feedback systems which keep management and production informed of processing trends. Develop methods for responding to process variability and a consistent rational to permanently correct, document and implement them. Work in partnership with Research and Technology (R&T) to develop and evaluate new materials and processes for the manufacture of current or new honeycomb concepts and/or aerospace parts. Understand and apply material specifications (raw material, intermediates and finished products). Support qualification of new materials and evaluation of product performance. Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or directly related technical field (preferably Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) from a four-year college or university. Previous experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment preferred. Six Sigma/Lean training or certification preferred. Computer literate. Proficient in the use of statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent software.
