META
Silicon Prototyping Emulation Engineer
META, Sunnyvale, California, United States, 94087
Summary:
Meta Reality Labs team is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of silicon, hardware, software, and content. Meta Reality Labs team seeks Silicon prototyping Emulation engineer. Our End-to-End (E2E) pre-silicon team enables this testing by creating systems from a mix of off-the-shelf components, internal IPs and SoCs at various maturity levels, and representative mock-ups for new investigations. A successful candidate will be a Emulation platform builder, comfortable working complex SoC devices, emulation flows, virtualized sensors, displays, RTL design/verification, CV/ML/Gfx algorithms, OS/RTOS kernel and driver software and architectures, and who hears “its too early” as a personal challenge. The position requires a developer, able to debug and extract solutions from vague descriptions of system architecture and workloads, who also builds impactful relationships across teams to find ideas, assets and assistance to explore faster.
Required Skills:
Silicon Prototyping Emulation Engineer Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-silicon validation models using system level emulation technology.
Develop system level testbench in C/C++ and System Verilog.
Build and execute emulation test plan to ensure quality of the models and assist pre-silicon validation.
Drive emulation methodologies for HW verification and SW development.
Bring up and debug PCIe, DDR and generic SOC interfaces on emulation models. Support SoC bring-up and debug activities.
Partner with industry vendors and XFN teams to debug issues and deploy new emulation capabilities.
Work closely with product engineers, algorithm engineers, software engineers, architects and HW designers to enable pre/post-silicon validation content, quickly prototype new end user experiences and features.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years emulation experience on platforms such as Palladium, Veloce, or Zebu, as well as experience with compilation, debug, performance, and throughput tuning on SoCs.
Expertise in RTL development for Emulation prototypes and proficiency in Verilog, System Verilog, and C++ (DPI, Transactors, Monitors).Experience of dealing with ambiguity in a fast changing consumer electronics field.
Experience with scripting languages like Python, Makefile, Cmake.
System debug experience using tools like gdb, waveform, Verdi, Simvision.
Experience with IO’s such as MIPI CSI & DSI, USB, PCIE, LPDDR.
Experience managing multiple design releases and working with cross functional teams to support and debug customer issues.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Track record of ‘first-pass success’ in ASIC where emulation is one of the key validation tools.
Experience with post-silicon bring up, debug and reproduce issues on the emulator.
Experience with TCL scripting languages.
Experience interfacing with the design, verification, validation and software development teams and understand their needs from an emulation perspective.
Performance modeling and power analysis experience.
Experience working effectively as an individual and in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience with hybrid setup (emulation model co-simulation with virtual platform) and improving emulation throughput for SW debug/development.
Knowledge in SystemVerilog for design and verification, chip architecture, µArchitecture, design and UVM based design verification experience.
Experience of dealing with ambiguity in a fast changing consumer electronics field.
Public Compensation:
$142,000/year to $203,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
