About this Role: The Vice President of Transmission responsible for overseeing the transmission operations within an energy or utility company. This role involves managing the planning, development, and maintenance of the transmission infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient delivery of electricity or other energy sources. What You'll Do: Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the strategic vision and direction for the transmission division. Align transmission strategies with the company's overall business objectives and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the executive team to drive innovation and sustainability in transmission operations.
Operational Management:
Oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the transmission infrastructure. Ensure operational excellence by implementing best practices and performance metrics. Manage the reliability and efficiency of the transmission network, minimizing outages and disruptions.
Regulatory and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry organizations. Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and reports.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the transmission division's budget, ensuring financial efficiency and accountability. Evaluate and approve expenditures, contracts, and investments related to transmission projects and operations. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing transmission team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for team members. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary resources, training, and support to succeed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, contractors, and community partners. Represent the company at industry conferences, meetings, and events, promoting the company's transmission capabilities and achievements. Address and resolve any issues or concerns from stakeholders related to transmission operations.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience in the energy sector, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role focused on transmission. Proven track record of managing large-scale transmission projects and operations. In-depth knowledge of transmission systems, regulations, and industry best practices. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. High level of integrity and commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. Proficiency in project management software and tools. What You'll Get:
