Mandatory: Extensive experience on GE software tools
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Aero Engine, Concessions, Engineering Change Management (ECM), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Siemens NX, Teamcenter Engineering, Tolerance Stack Ups.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Redesign aero engine parts for Cost/weight optimization, address field failures & performance upgrades Conduct root cause investigations for field issues and determine possible cause of failure Generate design concepts and perform trade studies to down select feasible concepts Perform detailed design of finalized concepts Perform stack-up analysis, gapping studies, thermal impact studies. Create design layouts, write Design Substantiation memos/ Design record book Release design intent to Product Definition Review manufacturing drawings for accurate design intent and provide approval prior to release Perform failure modes and effects analysis for new design Interact with customer as needed on task status at a technical standpoint Interact with other disciplines like stress, thermal, aero, manufacturing etc as needed during the detailed design and validation process Create all technical design documentation needed to substantiate the design change including FAA certification. Collaborate to author Design Change document Lead, Participate and collaborate with stakeholders for the successful completion of Internal GE technical reviews Design consensus Review Program kick-off review Mechanical Systems technical review Detailed Design Review Systems Technical Review Tooling Detailed Design Review Technical documentation supporting all the above reviews Leads engineering change execution process until change incorporation. Assist in preparing necessary documentation for reviews such as Design Kickoff Consensus Review, Preliminary Design Review, Analysis Model Technical Review, Detailed Design Review, Systems Technical Review, Program Review, and documentation detailing CCL (Commerce Control List) impact. Collaborate to finalize applicable criteria documents required for Engineering change substantiation. Assist in completing all other necessary documents and worksheets to validate the engineering change. Evaluate product quality concessions and provide engineering recommendation for aero engine parts. REQUIRED SKILLS:
Rich experience working on GE aero engine parts in the areas of compressors, Bearing Sumps or turbines. Sound knowledge in Mechanical design fundamentals, Engineering concepts and applications. Sound understanding of the build and functionality of GE aero engine and sub-modules. Strong Knowledge in GD&T per ASME standards, interpretation and application, and able to perform Complex Tolerance stack-up analysis. Capability to understand and interpret structural analysis results. Good experience working in NX and Teamcenter Exposure to manufactured process and deviation resolutions Has the experience of interacting with customer to solve critical problems. Good analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills An excellent team player
