Responsibilities
The Costing Estimator is responsible for estimating material, labor, and associated costs from receipt of project drawings to the final proposal. Responsible for interim and post job studies. Create material takeoffs and labor estimates according to sketches or engineering specification Research and specify materials to be used on products. Create costing documentation Analyze actual labor, material and cost against costing and labor reports Interact with Design Engineers to ensure accuracy of BOM (bill of materials) Review BOMs to ensure they reflect latest manufacturing practices Qualifications
Associate's degree and 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination Excellent project and time management skills A strong team spirit, exceptional time management skills, attention to detail and an extensive knowledge of material and manufacturing process. Knowledge of store fixtures, P.O.P displays is a plus. Excellent oral, written and mathematical skills Works well under pressure to hit tight deadlines when necessary Exposure to manufacturing, costing, reporting and variance analysis is a must Possess extensive knowledge of materials and processes Able to read and accurately interpret complex drawings and specifications.
