We conduct this research on a 6,800-acre prairie, 35 miles outside Chicago, a treasure that has been designated a National Environmental Research Park. This role is a three year term position located in Lead, SD. The role can be extended two years at a time depending on available funding. The Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) / Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) Project is seeking a team member to join the Fermilab team as a Logistics Coordinator. The LBNF/DUNE Project is hosted by Fermilab in Batavia, IL and includes participation from universities and laboratories from around the world (referred to as the Consortia) and partnerships with CERN and the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, SD. The LBNF/DUNE Project will design and construct the world's largest proposed neutrino experiment to answer the most compelling questions about the makeup of our universe. In support of DUNE, LBNF will construct the world's most powerful neutrino beamline at Fermilab and surface and underground conventional facilities (CF) to host DUNE's large liquid argon neutrino detectors nearly a mile underground at SURF. Summary of Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, coordinates and monitors receipt and transport of LBNF/DUNE materials at storage locations to the project site at SURF. Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and logistics activities. YOU WILL: Assist in developing plans and schedules to enhance distribution of materials and supplies underground. Maintain customer relations with contractors managing the warehouse, laydown yard, and trucking contracts. Coordinate logistics supply from offsite storage to the SURF underground project site, working with installation teams to ensure logistics planning is executed. Answer inquiries concerning received materials, provides customer assistance to international and national stakeholders. Utilize existing shipping instruction manual to advise Consortia members on material preparation, packaging, and markings/labels appropriate for shipping. Verify goods received per shipping vendor's packing slip information and compares to purchase order or materials delivery list provided by Consortia. Investigate and resolves shipping and receiving discrepancies utilizing multiple software programs. Accompany Fermilab staff and project partners to off-site storage locations to inspect their project materials/building components to ensure quality for installation. May conduct verification audits via physical inventory of items stored in warehouse/laydown yard, as necessary. Performs visual inspection of all received materials and manages documentation and departmental process for received damaged goods. Prepare and review receiving documents to ensure data uploads to the warehouse management system and other relevant databases are accurate. Abide by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree with a related discipline preferred, but not required. Minimum of 1+ year(s) of experience in an administrative, logistics (transportation/trucking), or inventory management environment.

Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Must have a valid state driver's license. Requires local travel and may require travel to Fermilab, located in Batavia, Illinois. Familiarity with warehouse management software programs is desired. Knowledge of truck load plans desired. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills desired. Experience working on a team a plus.
