is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Their primary responsibility is to design, implement, and maintain the security infrastructure to protect against cyber threats, data breaches, and other vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, risk management, and compliance, with a focus on securing DoD information systems.
Job Functions
Provide for on-site and remote support of an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) support services during and after deployment, for management and configuration of any required Risk Management Framework activities required to support accreditation activities for delivered software solutions, to include but not limited to other systems interfacing with deployed solutions. Ensure cybersecurity inspections, test, and reviews are coordinated for the enterprise IT network environment. Develop and evaluate approved efforts to ensure that baseline security safeguards are appropriately installed. Identify IT security implications of new technology solutions or upgrades. Monitor and manage IT security data sources to maintain government situational awareness. Participate in IT information security risk assessments during security assessments and authorization process. Manage protective or corrective measures when cybersecurity incidents or vulnerabilities are discovered in solutions delivered. Track audit finding and recommendations, develop and implement mitigation actions. Requirements
Minimum of 6+ years of experience working as a Security Engineer, Security Controls Assessor, or other related IT Security role Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its application Strong understanding of various operating systems, network configurations, and cybersecurity tools and practices Strong knowledge of DoD security policies, standards, and guidelines including knowledge of DOD 8500 series publications and their applicability to IT Systems Must possess a blend of technical expertise in areas such as network security, encryption, and firewall management Experience working with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell Demonstrable proficiency in firewall management, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies Experience with Vulnerability Management and applying security patches, and hotfixes Experience with the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process Experience helping to bring IT systems to ATO Education, Certification, Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Security +, CISSP, CISM, or CEH are preferred. Requires a TS/SCI national security clearance
